Architecture: Silo House

The Silo House was designed by Cornell University students for the 2009 Solar Decathlon.  I love the rusted metal exterior and elevated canopies.  Bringing the outdoors in was created throughout the project by using folding exterior doors and I love the simplicity of the palette and materials used.  I want a curved kitchen wall now and I would live here in a second. Finish: Shaw 18x36

I'm loving the new 18x36 collection from Shaw.  What a fun size and look this collection creates.  They are also going to come out with a list of existing carpets that will be available in this 18" x 36" tile too.  I cannot wait to use this on a project.

Interior: Hotel Favorita

hotel favorita in porto, portugal by sam baron.  if i were to go to portugal, this is where i'd like to stay.  they view themselves more as a home than as a hotel.  i love the stark white walls with the pops of color and pattern in floors and in paintings. (via yatzer)

Lighting: Nendo

Reminiscent of chochin paper lanterns, nendo created this blown fabric light installation for the Tokyo Fiber ’09 Senseware exhibition. Adopting the same technique that is used in glass blowing, these lights are blown from Smash - a long fiber non-woven polyester that is capable of being manipulated into different forms using a hot press form technology. Smash’s thermoplastic properties allow for the creation of seamless one-piece lanterns that are rip-proof and glow beautifully when illuminated from within.  (via furfin)

Furniture: Capri

i used to work for a dealer that carried zero 4 and got to meet stephan hertzog of busk + hertzog.  danish design is a love of mine and i'm a big fan of busk + hertzog's work. i've been lucky enough to use some zero 4 products on projects before too and they are as beautiful in person as they are in their photographs. Finish: Wallpaper

I've been feeling nostalgic lately and have been digging through my archives to find my favorite posts from over the years.  Wallpaper is definitely a favorite finish of mine and one that i don't get to use in the "real world" too often. I am always waiting for that perfect project to use one of these on.
