i'm in love with this restaurant designed by rauminraum. the lighting, common central seating, finishes, wall stencils, and i love seeing the space in use.  plus, it doesn't hurt that i'm a jackie and the name of this restaurant is jackie su either.  read more and see more pictures about it here.  (via contemporist)

Architecture: ROM

the Royal Ontario Museum, "ROM" as it's commonly referred to, is an amazing structure designed by Daniel Libeskind. i actually got to go inside this bad boy and eat dinner at the c5 restaurant on the top floor of the "crystal".  the image below shows my favorite part of the structure...where the new addition adds on to the existing brick building.  it's like a modern transformer in mid transform.  love love love it!

Interior: c5 restaurant

i had the most amazing meal at an extraordinary restaurant while in toronto.  c5 restaurant is in the royal ontario museum (which i'll post about tomorrow) designed by famed architect Daniel Libeskind, the 175,000 square-foot, aluminum-and-glass-covered Michael Lee-Chin Crystal is composed of five interlocking, self-supporting prismatic structures. c5 Restaurant Lounge is located in the top of the fifth crystal, hence the name c5. the interior was breathtaking with an amazing view of the city.  perfect.

the dovecot studio in suffolk was designed by haworth tompkins and is part of the music campus at Snape Maltings, founded by Benjamin Britten.  i think it's amazing and love retrofitting existing structures.  fantastic.  (via arplus)
