Architect: Honogodai School

honogodai christ church school and nursery designed by takeshi hosaka architects is amazing.  the structure's shape was dictated by the existing trees on the site which created 5 courtyards to surround the trees.   it's so beautiful, transparent, modern, and lovely.  i want to go to school here.  (via spoon-tomago)

Finish: Newsworthy Wallpaper

love this recycled newspaper wallpaper "newsworthy" by lori weitzner.  beautiful.

Interior: McNally Jackson Cafe

i love the interior of the mcnally jackson cafe inside mcnally jackson bookstore, one of manhattan's largest independent bookstores. this modern cafe was designed by front studio.  let's start with how beautiful the mixture of suspended lights and suspended books feels.  then, the wall of pages looks like a stone tile or even concrete block from a distance.  i love the little pull down tables and really love the tile design on the front of the checkout counter.  beautiful design.  (via contemporist)

DIY: Concrete Paver Container

i've got the outdoors on my brain lately.  every morning i water all of my container plants that get full sun and every other day i water all of my newly planted landscaping.  the irises and roses just started blooming this week and it's my favorite time of the year.  this weekend i want to get the garden into the ground.  while outside, i'd love to try my hand at making a few of these concrete containers made from concrete pavers.  aren't they cool?!  what an inexpensive idea to get a modern look. Architecture: Bucky Bar

guerilla architecture?  the bucky bar was a "spontaneous and temporary public building made entirely of umbrellas."  read about the awesome structure here.  it's a great story involving, architects, an exhibition, and cops!  (via polkadot/notcot)

Finish: Letter Tiles

want to play scrabble on your backsplash?  if so, these are the tiles for you. (via livbit)

Interior: Raman House

i would live here in a heartbeat.
The RÃ¥man House was a rehabilitation of an old school house where Ingegerd and her husband, artist Claes Soderquist bought at a very cheap price because nobody wanted it.

Lighting: Le Soleil

yes, please.  i'll take one in red and one in white.  it also comes in aquamarina!  oooohh.  le soleil from foscarini is rad.

Furniture: FF1 Chair

i love this ff1 chair by fox & freeze.

FF1 or Fox & Freeze1 is an indoor lounge chair made out of 1 square sheet of synthetic felt. There is no loss of material (except from the drilled holes), it is not supported with wood or metal or other. The Structure is self-supporting, the flax rope contracts the chair and finishes the chair aesthetically. The shell and base are not separated from the sheet but remain connected. Starting from a square surface, the felt sheet is twisted and twisted again, just like a scarf, ending in a symmetric and but also an asymmetric object, this is literally forms follows function. (via contemporist)

watch the video here to see the chair's strength.  it's impressive!
