Furniture: Training Dresser

Training Dresser by Peter Bristol.  I'd love to have the adult version of this!

Before & After: Bedroom

(before)

Over the weekend we had the itch to finally paint our bedroom.  We've hated the yellow since we moved in 3 years ago and my husband even went as far as to call it "smoking room at the airport yellow".  Yep, it needed to be done.  I had been debating painting it  light gray or a dark gray and finally decided on dark.  We picked "Man Cave" gray from Lowe's signature line. I'd been thinking Gauntlet Gray from Sherwin Williams for some time, but it was Sunday morning and SW wasn't open.  I painted the ceiling matte white, the trim a semi gloss white, and got a new mini chandelier as a little cherry on top.  Sorry for the poor quality iPhone shots.  What do you think?  Did you get any house projects done over the weekend?

Birmingham, AL Design*Sponge City Guide

I've been waiting for a Birmingham, AL city guide on Design*Sponge for ages now and Rachel West did a great job highlighting some of my favorite local attractions.  The two venues that I think should have also made the list are Rojo and Bottletree, both amazing restaurants that host bands, art shows, and benefits galore.  Love it.

Etsy Lunch Hour: Rings

It's almost wedding season and at the end of summer will be a big anniversary for myself as well.  So, I've been in the mood to shop for rings and non-traditional rings to be exact.  Here are a few that have caught my eye on etsy as of recently.

14k knot ring $16.

pyrite crystal in sterling silver ring $75.

Interior: Emma Reddington

Design*Sponge always has beautiful interiors that I drool over.  I'm adding Emma Reddinton's Toronto Victorian to that list.  I love the softness and brightness of the bedroom, the textures throughout, the black bathroom, and the stark palette in contrast with the warm woods.

Etsy Lunch Hour: JoeVintage

Check out these awesome industrial salvaged metal signs at joevintage on etsy.  Oh man, these would have been so perfect in my loft I used to live in.

Interior: Jess Lorass

There's something really special about Jess Lorass's apartment I found over at Design*Sponge.  I think it has all of the elements I like in my own design...crisp clean lines, open layout, pops of mid century modern furniture, cool art, and beautiful lighting.

Furniture: Druida

We bar-b-que a lot here in the south and it's spring which is the kick off of the grilling season.  If I had this Druida BBQ by Mermelada Estudio I might never cook inside again.  Even though this isn't "technically" a furniture piece I would treat it like one and would probably never want to leave this outside by itself either due to thieves wanting it's awesomeness.  Is this not the most beautiful BBQ you've ever seen?!  (via notcot)
