DIY: Grocery List
design*sponge is one of my favorite design sites and there are always ALWAYS fun DIY projects to choose from. this grocery list/planner/storage box is right up my alley and i'm actually going to try it. most DIY projects i post are more "dream projects". this one is so practical and really helps my slightly anal tendencies when it comes to grocery shopping, budgeting, and organizing. check out the article here by kate over at d*s.

Funny Find: Unhappy Hipsters
Have you checked out Unhappy Hipsters yet? I think I laughed out loud on every post.
The things that once so defined him — shag carpeting, Room & Board sofas, monogamy — now suffocated him.

Artist: Szymond Roginski/Kasia Korzeniecki
sculptural photography? i think it's amazing. this project was a collaboration by photographers Szymond Roginski and Kasia Korzeniecki for fashion designer Anya Kuczynska. the pieces are inspired by cubism, made from photographs and pieced together in 3d forms to make this beautiful display.

Accessory: Polli
i've been enjoying perusing Polli's website the last two days and have narrowed down a few of my favorite accessories. above are the sweet tealight shades in kimono, sapling, and stella. below are the woven feather earrings in tropical (which go very well with monica's post this morning!) and the woven dragonfly pendant in plum-multi. i almost posted this and this too! too many cute things to choose from. which ones are you favorites?
Architecture: Tess Lloyd Before & After
i received an email from kate williams of polli design yesterday with a wonderful before and after project and images. i knew my readers would appreciate this renovation as much as i have.
Polli designer Tess Lloyd recently renovated a beautiful old house in Sydney. The 100+ year old terrace was sympathetically renovated and updated to retain the heritage features and create a warm, sustainable, sunlit living space for a new family (shortly after the house was renovated, Tess had her first child – a little girl named India). Features include led down lights, water retention tank, cross ventilating louvers, cooling concrete floors and big bifolds and entertaining deck with a North Westerly aspect.
The renovated terrace also became a Polli jewelry design, with Terrace earrings, necklaces, and a brooch.

Furniture: 1-2-3 sit stool
This flat pack stool is easy to assemble and easy to transport. It is also extremely light. The most distinctive characteristic of the ‘1-2-3 sit’ stool is the joinery (dovetail joint) and the combined folded steel and oak wood which represents a new method of joinery. It is simple and effective, that’s why we call it the ‘1-2-3 sit ’. (via design/milk)

Recycled Content: The ReBuilding Center
Apartment Therapy had a great post on the ReBuilding Center:
"The ReBuilding Center, located in Portland, OR, is a downright amazing resource. This non-profit aims to make home repair affordable to everyone through salvaged and reclaimed materials. They have a huge selection of just about everything that structurally makes up a home (sinks, cabinets, lighting, tile, windows, doors, lumber, etc...), offer deconstruction services, and sell furniture made from reclaimed materials."
i really like the furniture on their website too!

Finish: Colored MDF
this could be really fun used in the right application.
The through-colored medium density fiberboard (MDF) technology is already very popular in Europe where it is used in the innovative design markets, including office furniture, molding, door skins, drawer fronts and store fixtures. Now, wood product manufacturers including displays, furniture and wood paneling as well as some craftspeople are showing strong interest in this new and innovative wood product. (via)
