Green Content: Wooden Scooter

Architecture: The House Cafe

The House Café, designed by Autoban can be found in the Kanyon Shopping Mall in Istanbul, Turkey. It's like having a gorgeous greenhouse inside. I love the shape and the structual steel skeleton exposed, working with the glass, fabric, and wood to make this so beautiful.

AIA Merit Award!


so, my big project, McKenzie Court Community Center won a merit award last night at the AIA awards! so excited...quite an honor. oh, and the board i put together got a lot of compliments. yay me for teaching myself photoshop. here's a pic of the board. it was 20" x 30" on foam board. i think the community center turned out pretty badass if i do say so myself.

felt on the walls. i love the idea for sound absorbtion and it's just beautiful. above right is the visitor orientation theatre at the museum of tolerance in l.a. the walls are composed of hand-stacked wool felt and gives a beautiful linear pattern. find out more about the design of the museum here via interior design magazine. above left is a wall at the central library in amsterdam via yatzer. silk and wool felt walls designed and made by Claudy Jongstra. the texture makes me want to run my hand along this wall. so gorgeous!
