Architecture: Off the Grid

Architect Hank Louis worked with Navajo tribe elders to secure a 66-year lease on a half-acre lot in the middle of Bluf, Utah, for Rosie Joe and her children.  (via dwell)

i love this off the grid house.  it takes 4 solar panels to power the structure that was hand built by students using reclaimed materials, hand welded rebar to build supports, and strategically positioned to gather heat from south facing windows. this would have been a fun project to work on.
