i love seeing other blogger's homes.  this one belongs to one of my favorite blogs atelier a+d.  the kitchen is adorable.  love the long horizontal glass tiles that mimic the linear brick of the fireplace and open shelves in the kitchen are a love of mine as well.  doesn't this just look modern and cozy?

Recycled Content: Magazine Necklace Feeds Children

a friend of mine was wearing this necklace the other day and i had to know more about it.  it's made from recycled magazines and Amazima Ministries is training the women in the Karamajong tribe to make these.  a portion of the proceeds then goes to back to the tribe to feed their children.

i don't normally post clothing accessories...usually just accessories for the home, but i found these amazing shoes that i've been drooling over and had to share.  what happens when an architect designs shoes?  united nude!  and all of the styles are amazing.  there's even a line that has a heel that looks like an eames chair foot.  i mean comeon, so cool!

DIY: Magnetic Display Wall

my husband has been wanting to do a display wall in the house for his photos so i was researching fun and modern ways to display art and not have to frame it all or puncture it.  i love this idea using magnetic paint.  a number of paint companies offer the magnetic paint.   yes, it is more expensive and from what i read, takes quite a few coats to apply and needs super strong magnets to make things stick...but i think it's a subtle way to display.  click here for step by step directions on how to do your own magnetic wall.  what do you think?  ever used magnetic paint before?

Green Content: I'm getting a rain barrel!

i'm getting a rain barrel today from nature's tap as part of the my green birmingham contest winnings!  i don't know what it will look like, but here are just a few that they had on their site.  two weeks ago i got my home energy audit by pro energy consultants done on the house too which i'll update you more on later.
