Accessory: Lace Fence

this fence has been on my inspiration wall for some time now. i love how intricate and beautiful an otherwise boring chainlink fench can be and am intrigued at the thought of bringing it inside as a dividing screen. this may not be a typical accessory, but how fun is it to use it as one?!

Architecture: Modern cabin by OSKA

i adore this cabin by olson sundberg kundig allen architects. it's 1,000 square feet, has a footprint that is only 20x20 and is 3 stories. the owner can completely shutter the entire structure while they are away. i love the details including a large outswinging window onto the patio and a movable wall on the living/kitchen floor to adjust privacy. Finish: Solistone Glass Tile

Solistone has some of the most amazing options for glass tile. Folio glass (above and last photo) is new to their line and is made of recycled stained glass. Below is their pillow glass which I am also drooling over. It's so refreshing to see new sizes in glass tile. Large scale glass has got to be a little more painstaking to install but boy is it beautiful!

Interior: Kate Hume in France

love love love this interior that remodelista posted yesterday!
From Julie:
British-born, Netherlands-based
Kate Hume has a way with dark/light interior compositions. We especially like this 17th-century manor house she overhauled to maximize space and light; most of the handcrafted oak furniture is by Birdman, a company she co-founded with her husband, Frans van der Heyden.

Interior: Dasparkhotel Austria

dasparkhotel is conceived and implemented primarily as a hospitality tool.
It is constructed from repurposed, incredibly robust drain pipes.
The external simplicity surrounds an unexpectedly comfortable interior - full headroom, double bed, storage, light, power, woolly blanket and light cotton sleeping bag. All other hotelery devices (Toilets, showers, minibar, cafe, etc) are supplied by the surrounding public space. From May through Octoberthe simultaneously functional and comfortable concrete sleep-pipes offer the chance to experience a place in a totally new way.

Interior: Mid Century Modern Kansas

apartment therapy did an amazing slide show and article of the Worden's home in Kansas here. i love the exposed wood ceiling, concrete floors and all of the cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms. it's just beautiful.

"Steve and Cathy Worden started planning their house project back in 2001. They broke ground in 2002 and after 22 months they had completed enough of the home to move in. The couple did 80% of the work themselves, spending weekends at the property, working tirelessly into the night. The homeowners worked within a very limited budget and in efforts to save money, they purchased highly industrial items to help keep the costs down. Most of the materials they used are available to everyone as they were purchased right off the shelves."

Lighting: Tide Chandelier by Stuart Haygarth

"The Tide Chandelier's part of a series based on the collection of 'man made' debris washed up on the Kent coastline. The Artist collected this debris over the course of many years to create the series of limited edition chandeliers. They're made of clear & translucent objects, primarily of plastic. Each one different in shape and form yet forming a harmonious orb."

M. of light net mesh. The algae are supplied in packs of 50 or in gift packs of six. (via

Architecture: Harmonia 57 Green Design

"Harmonia 57 is Triptyque’s office building located in west Sao Paulo, Brazil. The plants grow in little cavities specially designed for this purpose. In time, all the concrete should be covered in vegetation." (via decojournal)
